Creating a 4D scene
Render an animation in Blender, Unreal Engine or 3ds Max, and visitors orbit it while it plays.
A 4D scene is an animation that visitors orbit while it plays: a car on the road, water, smoke, a machine at work. Render it with the engine you already use and Nukxon turns it into a 4D Gaussian splat.
4D is in beta in the plugins for Blender, Unreal Engine and 3ds Max.
The 4D rig
Switch to the 4D tab, select what moves and click Create 4D Rig. Cameras appear on a dome around it, sized to the subject.
- Half Dome for a subject on the ground: a car, a person, furniture. Sphere for a subject seen from below as well, like something in the air.
- Distance is how far the cameras stand from the subject. Create 4D Rig sets it for you; raise it to give a moving subject more room.
- The cameras stay still for the whole animation and the plugin decides which ones render each frame. There is nothing else to set up.
Check the whole animation
Create 4D Rig fits the dome around the subject at the frame you're on. Scrub through the animation before you capture: the subject must stay inside the dome at every frame. If it gets close to the dome, raise Distance.
- Light it the way you want it seen. The lighting in your scene is what visitors see, from every side.
- Motion blur is turned off for the capture, so every frame stays sharp.
Capture
- Quality: Standard is recommended for 4D. Draft is faster, for a first look. High gives the most detail and takes longer.
- Frames: the whole animation, or the frames you choose, up to 1,000 frames a capture.
- Where it's saved: in Blender and 3ds Max, a
Nukxon_4Dfolder next to your saved scene, or the folder you choose under Output. Save your scene first or choose a folder. In Unreal Engine, Capture 4D asks you for the folder. - Time One Render (Blender and 3ds Max) renders one view and tells you how long the whole capture will take.
- Renderers: Cycles or EEVEE in Blender, Unreal Engine's own renderer, and V-Ray, Corona or Arnold in 3ds Max.
Click Capture 4D. Your engine renders the animation from the rig's cameras on your computer. If you stop it, click Capture 4D again with the same folder and it carries on where it stopped. When it's done, upload the capture at app.nukxon.com.
Orbit, play & slow down
- Orbit the scene from any side while it plays.
- Play, pause, scrub and slow motion to stop on a moment and look at it from every angle.
- Auto-rotate turns the scene slowly while it plays.
- It plays in any modern browser, phones included.
4D uses credits by length: see Pricing.
